…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
EVENING…
WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6
inches.
WHERE…Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central,
south central, southwest, and west central Missouri.
WHEN…Until 6 PM CST this evening.
IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. In Kansas, call 5 1 1 for road
conditions. In Missouri, call 1-888-275-6636 for road conditions.
Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to
reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a
hat will keep you from losing your body heat.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Significant excessive cold risk.
Elevated snow risk.
DISCUSSION…
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from now until 6 PM.
Expected snowfall is an additional 3 to 6 inches. Snow will
taper off later this afternoon from west to east.
Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for 6 PM today through 12
PM Monday. Sub-zero low temperatures expected tonight with wind
chills as cold as -23 degrees by Monday morning.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.
High temperatures will only be in the single digits to low teens
on Saturday. Behind the winter storm, high temperatures in the
20s and 30s through Thursday along with lows in the single digits
to teens will extend the time it takes for any snow on the ground
to clear.

Winds gusting up to 20-30 mph and humidity levels of 15-25% or
lower will result in elevated fire weather
concerns this afternoon.
Winter Storm Warning in effect from 9 PM today to 6 PM Sunday.
Expected snowfall is 6 to 14 inches across the area. The heaviest
snow is forecast to fall Saturday night into Sunday morning.
A Cold Weather Advisory in effect tonight through 12 PM Monday.
Single digit lows (above and below zero) and wind chills below -10
degrees will be likely each morning this weekend.
